Learning music is not a race
We each learn at our own pace
Register for what feels best
Cuz music keeps the learning fresh!

Dear Friends,

Over the past 25 years, we’ve been able to teach classes free of charge. Due to funding cuts to Arts and Education at the federal, state, and local levels, this summer we are requesting a modest fee to make our work possible. PLEASE READ MORE HERE

Please understand - this is a step we had hoped never to take, but like others around us, we are in survival mode. We love you and we don't want to lose you. So we made a very simple scholarship application available for those who are in need of support: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Smr26PDScholarship. This is a community and we help each other.

SONGS AND STRUMS FOR UKULELE

Course Prerequisite: Total Beginner Ukulele or Above

This class is for anyone who wants to learn a new strumming pattern or two, get comfortable with that, and who wishes to add some favorite songs to your current repertoire. Our teachers are taking requests! They are going to provide song sheets in the key of C for ukulele.
If you can already play 3 or more chords, you'll be able to manage these songs. If you only know 2 chords, and need to learn a 3rd chord, our instructor will help you.

Capos let you play the chords you already know, or want to practice. They let you change the key in which you play them by moving the capo up or down the neck of your instrument to different placements. It's easy. Your GITC instructor will show you how.

Everyone will need a capo to learn to play songs in a key that suits your voice, and we will mail them out if you have registered in time. Once you register, you can email june@guitarsintheclassroom.org if you need a capo, tell her you play ukulele, and she will send one to you as a gift courtesy of Kyser Capos, or Jim Dunlop Manufacturing.

Looking forward to seeing you in class!

All classes in this series will be taught from 10-11 am PT / 11-12 am MT / 12-1 pm CT / 1-2 pm ET.
