This writing workshop is focused on turning journal entries, memories, and unfinished ideas into personal essays with shape, clarity, and emotional depth. Through guided prompts and practical craft tools, you’ll learn how to identify the deeper story within your writing and begin developing it into a more intentional piece.
Whether you want to build a writing practice, share your work with friends and family, or eventually submit essays to literary journals, magazines, or newspapers, personal essays can help you better understand your experiences while connecting more deeply with others. Sometimes we write for ourselves; other times we write because our stories may speak to someone else. Both are equally powerful.
Open to both new and experienced writers, this workshop will explore voice, structure, reflection, and scene in a supportive small-group setting. Writing is often a direct mainline to our heart, our visions, our hope, or our hurt. Learning how to shape those truths into story can help you discover your writing voice, which is often very different from the one you think you have.
Please let us know if this date and time does not work for you but you are interested in more writing sessions with Marnie as we would like to make this a monthly writing meet-up.
