Who is it for?
No prior experience is necessary, ALL are welcome, this is a friendly and welcoming workshop. This beginner-friendly workshop blends calm focus with creative flow.
What you’ll learn
You’ll discover how to read the grain, safely use carving tools, and shape wood with confidence — all while enjoying the slow rhythm of making by hand. With time to refine your pieces, ask questions, and soak up the tranquil and inspiring Orchard Studio, you’ll leave with new skills, confidence, and handmade pieces to take home and use for years to come.

- 09:30 AM – Arrival & introductions
- 09:30 - 10:55 – Morning Axe Carving Session with Tea Break
- 13:00 – Lunch
- 13:30 – Carving Spoons with Hook Knife & Straight Knife
- 16:30 - 16:45 – Wrap up, Shop Visit & Finish

Additional information
If you need adjustments for mobility or other needs, please reach out. The carving site is a 2-minute walk from the studio. Alex is pediatric First Aid trained instructor. Fully risk-assessed sessions. Please wear warm clothing and sturdy footwear. Suitable for ages 8+. Children must be accompanied by a fee paying adult throughout.
