Four Part Carving Series

Throughout this special four part series, you will learn the fundamentals of spoon carving with expert Alex Finberg. A discount of 10% has been applied to this series, usually £405.

Part 1 - Introduction to Spoon Carving - 24th September 9.30am - 12.30pm

You’ll discover how to read the grain, safely use carving tools, and shape wood with confidence — all while enjoying the slow rhythm of making by hand.

Part 2 - Chopping Block / Mallet - 14th October 9.30am - 16.30pm

An essential part of a spoon carvers tool kit. This special course will guide you through making a chopping block and mallet.

Part 3 - Log to Spoon - 11th November 9.30am - 16.30pm

Join us for a day of transforming logs into beautiful spoons! Whether you want to refine your skills or break free from old habits, this workshop is designed to enhance your carving abilities and deepen your appreciation for the craft. 

Part 4 - Carve a Cooking Spoon - 18th November - 9.30am - 12.30pm

Spend a relaxing and rewarding day learning the art of green wood carving in the inspiring surroundings of The Orchard Studio in Dartington. Come away with your very own cooking spoon.

If you need adjustments for mobility or other needs, please reach out. Suitable for Adults (16+). Minimum of 6 participants required. If the course is under-booked, it will be rescheduled with notification by email and phone. Please note that when booking this course you commit to the full series. You will not be able to chop and change dates and no refund will be given if a course is missed. Please see our course terms and conditions for more details HERE. If you cancel the course up to a month before the first course date 24th September you will receive a full refund, between two and four weeks before the start date, a 70% refund is available. After this no refund is available.
