Concealed Carry Skills Level 2
Prereq: BGDC CCS 1 or equivalent recognized by BGDC. This class will be on the outdoor range all day but there is shade and seating for breaks and lunch. Attendees will work to build on the skills developed in CCS 1. Attendees will develop and practice intermediate skills and drills to safely and efficiently deploy the concealed carry handgun and get hits on anatomically critical locations to stop a threat. In this class we will first cover Stop the Bleed certification, then attendees will undergo a baseline assessment to identify areas of marksmanship and receive coaching to fine tune and refresh their skills.
The course will then move into shooting and movement, shooting from cover, and shooting from close contact. Marksmanship and firearms handling skills will be reinforced throughout the entire class. Skills that will be reninforced and developed include tactical and emergency reloads, malfunction clearing, cadence and target transitions will all be covered and drilled through nationally/peer reviewed shooting drills. Attendees will leave with a set of drills to continue their CCW skills development. After completion, students will have the intermediate skills and confidence necessary to carry a concealed firearm and deploy it in a defensive encounter.
Students will need the following Equipment and please reach out with any questions:
A concealed (or concealable) carry (AIWB/IWB) holster designed to be worn either appendix or strong side carried that is hard sided kydex preferred, reinforced leather is also allowed, but it must not collapse when the firearms is removed. NO shoulder, small of back, ankle or other carry methods will be allowed in class. If you carry off body, please call to discuss before registering
Two concealable spare (AIWB/IWB) magazine carrier
At least 3 magazines, but more is better
350-400 rounds of your preferred training ammunition
Appropriate eye protection
Appropriate hearing protection, electronic preferred/recommended
Fluids, snacks and (working) lunch for the day
Closed toe shoes, ball cap, high neck shirt, sunscreen and appropriate clothing for the weather
Pocket-sized note pad for taking notes if desired
