This one-day introduction to coaching is open to anyone wanting to take their first steps into coaching, as an assistant to a certified PTR or LTA coach.
The Tennis Recreation Leader course is a one-day, practical course designed to help you support a qualified coach at your club or tennis facility, introducing tennis to young children aged 10 and under. The course is open to anyone aged 14 and over.
Over 6 hours, you’ll learn how to:
· Communicate effectively with players of all ages
· Organise warm-ups, group activities, and fun tennis games at Red, Orange and Green
· Understand the basics of tennis technique and tactics
· Bring energy and engagement to sessions
· Assist a Lead Coach confidently on court
There is no assessment of competence, so there is no certification/qualification, and participants will not be able to coach alone. Participants will however receive a certificate of attendance, and will also need to ensure they are insured by the tennis facility.
