Training Series: Understanding HR1 and the Working Families Tax Cut Legislation
At a time when many families may experience confusion, uncertainty, or fear about changes to public benefits, VACHWA remains committed to ensuring that Community Health Workers and Doulas are prepared to respond with accurate information, compassionate support, and culturally responsive care.
As a framework for these discussions, participants will explore the implications of the Working Families Tax Cut (WFTC) legislation, signed into law on July 4, 2025, which establishes new community engagement requirements as a condition of Medicaid eligibility for millions of adults nationwide. States are required to implement these provisions by January 1, 2027, and public comments on the Interim Final Rule are due July 31, 202
