MATARIKI ART CAFE

Date: Thursday, 25 June 2026
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Venue: NGĀ ART, 18 Herschel Street, Ngāruawāhia
Cost: $25 per person

Join us for a relaxed and nourishing Matariki Art Cafe - a warm daytime gathering designed anyone seeking a gentle creative pause.

For just $25, you'll enjoy a selection of delicious kai and a full 2-hour session where you can choose one or several of our hands-on art activities to complete at your own pace.

All materials are provided, there's no pressure, and plenty of aroha to go around.

Choose from our creative menu:

  • Decoupage a Star of Intention – Craft a glowing star infused with a heartfelt wish guided by one of the nine whetū of Matariki.
  • Adorn a Candlestick – Create a beautiful one-of-a-kind candle holder for yourself or a loved one.
  • Paint a Matariki Watercolour – Enjoy the soothing flow of watercolours with Monique Heward's meaningful outline work.
  • Collage a Journal Cover – A playful "brain massage" – combine textures and images to design a unique journal cover.
  • Paint a Mini Art Piece – No rules, no pressure – just fun, intention, and a quiet moment to be present.
This class is for adults 18 years and older. Nau mai, haere mai.
This workshop requires a minimum of 8 registrations to go ahead. If this number is not met, we will reschedule the workshop. If the new date does not suit you, you will be offered a full refund.
