Beginner Ukulele for Youth
Description
Has your child ever wanted to play some of their favorite songs? Jam with friends or start a band? This group workshop is designed for youth without experience with the ukulele (or with minimal experience) to learn about foundations of playing music alone and with others.
Best suited for youth ages 8-12 years of age. However, if your child would like to join and your child is outside the suggested age range, please email us and let us know. We would be happy to discuss whether they would be comfortable in this small group class or if we have options better suited to their needs.
We will learn how about chords, notes on the ukulele neck, various strumming finger-picking patterns, and how to play your favorite songs together.
The material and pacing of our gatherings will be tailored to the level, skill and interests of the participants - you get to suggest the songs we learn!
If you do not have a ukulele please do not worry – We can supply ukuleles for the entire duration of the six-week program for a one-time 20 CAD fee. We will also provide instructions and supports to help you obtain your own ukulele, if that is of interest.
