  • This training will contribute to work toward a REAT certificate, as the introduction to Expressive Arts Therapy training meets criteria for one of the courses of the greater training according to IEATA standards. If you desire to become a registered expressive arts therapist, this certificate for Intro to EXA will be part of your portfolio.

Trainers Betsy Funk, LSCW, REAT and Natalie Hogge, LIMHP, REAT take their training and expertise as Expressive Arts Therapists directly to you as Expressive participants! This dynamic, immersive training is for everyone interested in enriching their lives creatively as professionals, while enhancing work as therapists and helping professionals.

Expressive Arts Therapy approaches and modalities are easily interwoven into other disciplines, such as DBT, CBT, Trauma approaches and more...

Working with the diverse mediums of Expressive Arts are dynamic in that you will learn to bring diverse modes of communication to your clients of all ages. When words are intangible, or experiences exceed the ability to attach a clear narrative, movement, visual arts, journaling, prose & poetry, sound and improv/drama offer accessible ways to express, deconstruct, heal and empower. Those who might struggle with direct communication, as well as those who communicate with ease can benefit from these applications.
