Wall, Floor and Roof Framing
This workshop explores advanced framing concepts with a focus on how framing design and construction requirements relate to specific provisions of the Ontario Building Code. Participants will develop a stronger understanding of when framing solutions can be evaluated and approved under Part 9 of the OBC, and when professional design and engineering are required.
Designed for building inspectors, plans examiners, and other building professionals, this highly interactive workshop examines many of the complex framing situations encountered in residential construction. Topics are presented through detailed diagrams, illustrated examples, practical scenarios, and group discussion to bridge the gap between Code requirements and real-world application.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be better equipped to assess complex framing proposals, identify compliance pathways, and make informed decisions during both plans review and inspection activities. A comprehensive digital resource manual is included to provide ongoing reference and support in the field and office.
