Cardboard Dreams:
Cardboard Dreams
For students who just completed 6th-8th grade
M-F 10am-2pm, July 13 to July 17, 2026
Led by Chiara Di Lello, Gina Samardge, and Gwynne Watkins
Compass Arts is introducing a new summer program: Cardboard Dreams, a one-week multimedia workshop for middle school students. It’s all about how cities like Beacon are planned and designed. In this program, students will think like a designer, city planner, and architect, with chances to learn about these disciplines during walks around town and conversations with local leaders, business owners, and community members. Then, campers will work together to design a reimagined Beacon and build it from upcycled materials. The camp week ends with an opening reception on the evening of Friday, July 17th, and a community share and exhibit on Saturday, July 18th, where students present their city model and their ideas to their friends and the wider Beacon community.
