Do you have a sailor 7 years old or younger? Would you like them to get some time and experience in an Optimist? If the answer is YES!, then we have the program for you!
Who: CSYC members and their children 7 years or younger. The parent must be willing and able to get into an Optimist with their child.
What: CSYC Junior Juniors is a pre-Junior Sailing program designed and organized for our littlest sailors to gain time and experience in a small boat. We will be working on basic boat skills, including exposure to capsizing a boat, and practicing having fun in a small sailboat.
When: Thursdays in July (4 total), 6 pm until you want to be done and the boats are put away. July: 2, 9, 16, and 23.
Where: CSYC beach!
Why: Because why not use the club boats, beach, and water to entertain ourselves and our kiddos for an evening? Plus! We get to share our love of sailing with our littlest buddies and foster a love of the water and boats with them, too!
How (much): The cost of participation is $40, which includes use of club boats/equipment and a snack every evening.
Things of note: This program is only open to CSYC members and their children. One adult must be able to be in the optimist with a child/children. We will have a basic lesson and goals for each evening, BUT you are in charge of this experience for your kiddo. Every kiddo/family is welcome to go at their own pace to ensure a positive boating experience.
