Heritage Pen Turning
Tuition: $55
Optional Gift Box: $5
Turn a piece of hardwood into a beautiful, functional writing instrument in this hands-on introductory woodturning class. Participants will learn the basic steps of pen turning, which includes: preparing the wood blank, shaping the pen on the lathe, sanding, finishing, and assembling the final pen hardware.
This class celebrates the tradition of making useful objects by hand. Students will work with selected hardwoods, which may include walnut, cherry, maple, or oak, depending on availability. Each piece of wood will have its own grain, color, and character, making every finished pen unique.
Instruction, materials, and use of the shop’s tools and safety equipment are included. Each participant will leave with one completed handcrafted wooden pen, suitable for everyday use, gift-giving, or as a personal keepsake
