Gather and Print: Botanical Mono-printing

One day workshop

Join printmaker Charlie Ash for a day learning and playing with the process of mono-print. So named because it produces a single (mono) print from an inked plate or object, mono-printing is an exciting way to expand upon sketching, painting or collage.

Taking inspiration from autumnal foliage in the historic Cotswold valley where GPC is based, you’ll learn about mark making and layering drawings on inked plates, as well as how to make fascinating prints directly from botanical materials and found textures. We’ll take a short walk outdoors to study and gather materials, then experiment with transferring these into mono-prints, with an afternoon to develop these ideas and make either a series of card sized prints or a larger feature piece.

With no printmaking experience needed, the workshop is a relaxed introduction to some of the fundamental ideas of printmaking without the need for specialised equipment or chemicals - a chance to become immersed in the fun of repeated, improvised, process-led image making.

Do bring an apron to protect your clothes. You will go away with some great designs and your own blocks to use again at home. All materials included.

Terms and Conditions:

Bookings are only confirmed on receipt of the full cost of the course. We reserve the right to cancel the course at a weeks notice if there are less than 4 participants booked.

We will not be liable for any childcare, travel or accommodation fees lost due to cancellation by us.

Cancellation Policy:

The sum of £50, will be lost If you cancel at short notice (less than 2 weeks before the course start). If your place cannot be filled, no monies will be returned.
