Rotary Centre for the Arts

This dance workshop involves a simple yet vigorous lead warm-up, improvisational tasks, and sequences of movement. We’ll both embrace the floor and move through and into the air. Molly’s teaching is influenced by her training in Butoh, and other contemporary and somatic practices. We will play with physicality and athleticism, while embracing our curiosity and artistic expression. This class can challenge experienced movers and accommodate beginners.

Molly McDermott is a dance artist based in amiskwaciy-wâskahikan. She works as a performer, choreographer, and teacher. Molly has been a collective artist with Good Women Dance Collective since 2023 alongside her independent projects. Her choreography has been performed at Fluid Festival, Mile Zero Dance, New Dance Horizons, Vines Art Festival and many more.
