Blue Finance returns for its second year, and this time we are looking hard at the UK. The inaugural conference brought over 200 people from finance, government, industry and ocean sustainability together around a single problem: the ocean is one of the world's great assets, yet it attracts a fraction of the investment its recovery requires. The question for 2026 is "Why isn't the capital moving?"

Blue Finance 2026 follows the journey that money has to make — from institutional capital markets to the coast itself. We look at how public and philanthropic money can work harder to de-risk private investment, and why so many blended structures never reach close. We examine whether natural capital markets, marine net gain and emerging marine credits can be built with the integrity that investors and the public will trust. We look at the last mile — the scale mismatch that keeps finance from reaching communities, SMEs and the coast itself. And we ask how corporate supply chains and procurement might become a demand-side mechanism for funding pressure reduction, rather than investment alone.

Alongside the main programme, parallel workshops will give delegates the chance to get into the detail with the organisations building these mechanisms now.

Who should be there

Institutional investors and asset managers. Banks, insurers and legal advisers. Corporates and supply chain leads. Government, regulators and public bodies. Funders and philanthropies. Project developers, NGOs, coastal businesses and community organisations. Anyone whose decisions determine whether capital reaches the coast or stops short of it.

Places are limited. We look forward to seeing you there.
