Dedication

This special day is lovingly dedicated to the 91st Birthday of Venerable Tarthang Tulku, in deep gratitude for his lifelong commitment to preserving the Buddhadharma and bringing greater peace, wisdom, and goodness into the world.

Throughout the day, we will dedicate the merit of the International Tipiṭaka Chanting for his long life, good health, and the continued flourishing of his extraordinary activities for the benefit of all beings.

This will be a sacred day of blessings, bringing together the living words of the Buddha, the prayers of the Saṅgha, and the wider community in an atmosphere of devotion, gratitude, and peace.

A gathering of the Sangha and Buddhist traditions in honor of the Buddhavacana — the teachings of the Buddha — and the cultivation of a noble way of life.

9:00 AM — Welcome & Opening
Welcome by Wangmo Dixey, Director, and Dr. Richard Dixey, Dean of Dharma College

9:15 AM — Opening Chanting: Mangala Sutta
Recitation of the Mangala Sutta by all participating monastics and the assembled community.

9:30–10:00 AM — Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta 
Chanting of the Buddha's First Discourse, Setting the Dhamma Wheel in Motion.

10:00–10:20 AM — Tibetan Buddhist Chanting
Prayers and chanting offered by participating Tibetan Lamas.

10:30–11:00 AM — Myanmar Abhidhamma Chanting
Traditional Abhidhamma recitation by the Myanmar Sangha.

11:00 AM — Offering of Lunch to the Sangha
Lunch will be formally offered to all participating monastics downstairs.

12:00–1:00 PM — Community Lunch
Lunch for lay participants and guests.Celebration with cake. 

AFTERNOON DHARMA & MEDITATION

1:30–4:30 PM — Cultivating a Noble Way of Life

Dharma Teaching & Meditation with Venerable Ajahn Pasanno

An afternoon of Dharma teaching, meditation, and the cultivation of stillness led by Venerable Ajahn Pasanno, senior teacher in the Thai Forest tradition and associated with Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery.

The afternoon will offer an opportunity to move from hearing the words of the Buddha in the morning to contemplating and practicing their meaning together.

5:00 PM — Closing Ceremony & Sangha Offerings
Concluding prayers, dedication of merit, and offerings to the participating Sangha.
