Owning a firearm is a responsibility that demands more than simply going to the range. Armed Citizen Essentials is a comprehensive course designed to build the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills every responsible firearm owner should possess.

Students will spend the morning in the classroom learning defensive mindset, firearm safety, equipment selection, and the principles behind effective rifle and pistol use. After a lunch break, training moves to the range where students will apply those concepts through structured live-fire drills designed to improve accuracy, weapon handling, and confidence with both platforms.

Whether you're new to firearms or looking to strengthen your foundation, this course provides practical, real-world training in a safe and professional environment.

Topics Covered:

• Firearm safety and defensive mindset
• Rifle and pistol fundamentals
• Equipment selection and setup
• Optics and sighting systems
• Reloads and malfunction clearing
• Accuracy and marksmanship
• Defensive shooting principles
• Movement and use of cover
• Practical live-fire drills with both rifle and pistol

Course Schedule:

• Up to 2 hours of classroom instruction
• 1-hour lunch break
• Afternoon live-fire training for the remainder of the day

Gear Required:
- Rifle with sling
- Piston with holster
- 2 mags each weapon
- 400 rounds rifle
- 200 rounds pistol
- Ear and eye protection
-Water

By the end of the course, students will have a greater understanding of both rifle and pistol employment, increased confidence in their abilities, and a solid foundation to continue advancing their defensive firearms training with Sanctum.
