Come and experiment with transfer techniques, mono printing and sgraffito to create a beautiful pot, hanging plaque or plate.

After exploring these different techniques on clay tiles, you may choose to focus on a single process or combine several methods to create a beautifully layered, richly decorated piece of work.

We’ll supply you with a small thrown pot and all the materials and equipment for you to make either a plate or a plaque too.  We’ll glaze and fire both the pot and a plate/plaque for you to collect.

What you’ll need

You’ll need to bring at least one image, printed out onto ordinary photocopy paper, appropriately A5 size (15cm x 21cm) that will be suitable to simplify for transfer, printing and carving.

You might also want to bring some fine paint brushes if you have some favourite ones, but don’t worry if you don’t have any, we’ll be supplying these too.

We also have a lovely array of tools for carving into leather hard clay.
