Hot Metal Cold Beer is part foundry experience, part happy hour, and all access behind-the-scenes look into one of Durham's most unique art spaces. During the evening, you'll create the pattern for your own bronze coin before watching Liberty Arts' foundry crew transform it into metal during a live bronze pour.

While your piece is being cast, grab whatever you fancy at Glass Jug Beer Lab using your included drink token—whether it's a craft beer, cider, soda, or another non-alcoholic beverage—and enjoy an evening exploring a pop-up art market featuring work from Liberty Arts artists. Throughout the night you'll witness the glow of molten bronze, experience the excitement of a working foundry, and get a rare look at the casting process from just beyond the foundry floor.

This event will take place at the Liberty Arts Foundry, located on Foster St., Durham, NC, within Durham Central Park with drinks being served across the street at The Glass Jug, 545 Foster St, Suite 10, Durham, 27701.

Friends and family are welcome to join the fun! Even without purchasing a casting ticket, guests are invited to watch the live bronze pours, browse the artist market, grab a drink from Glass Jug Beer Lab, and enjoy the atmosphere of Hot Metal Cold Beer.

Pre-requisites

No previous foundry or metalworking experience is required.

This experience is designed for beginners. Liberty Arts staff will guide you through creating your medallion, while the foundry crew handles the bronze casting during the live pour.
