Intermediate Crochet Level I: Tunisian Simple Stitch
INTERMEDIATE CROCHET Level I: Tunisian Simple Stitch.
Tunisian Crochet is its own form of stitching, different from knitting and crocheting. A long, elongated hook is used to work the stitches to create a plush, squishy fabric.
In this class, we’ll learn how to crochet the Simple Stitch. The Simple Stitch is a basic, beginner stitch to learn in Tunisian Crochet. We’ll start with one colour, then learn how to add colours to make stripes, and how to marle colours to change colours in the fabric as you work. This sets you up to work on a stash busting blanket project while practicing your stitching.
Skill Level: can comfortably work a ch stitch, already know how to use more than one colour in your work (either knit/crochet).
Materials Included: 30 g sport weight yarn, 5 mm Tunisian Crochet / Afghan hook.
Please bring (for the 3rd class): yarn (lace – fingering weight) that you want to use in your scrappy blanket. If using thicker yarn, please bring the hook size suitable for the yarn you’ve chosen to use. Tapestry needle and sharp scissors.
Homework: bring listed materials, a notebook and pen if you want to take additional notes.
Length of class: 2 hrs per session. Four sessions total.
Please note: the classroom is up 14 steps.
