Discover paper cut-outs, playful printmaking, and layered storytelling in a joyful one-day art experience.

Join us for a vibrant, one‑day mixed‑media collage workshop that invites playful experimentation. Inspired by Henri Matisse’s paper‑cut techniques and the instructor’s own studio practice, we’ll layer hand‑cut shapes with expressive passages of acrylic paint, applying simple printmaking tricks to add unexpected texture and rhythm. A quick visual tour of contemporary and historical collage artists will spark ideas before you dive into making.

Step by step, you’ll explore composition, colour harmony and dynamic mark making, leaving with at least one finished artwork and a toolkit of ideas to keep exploring. All materials are provided, and no prior drawing, painting or collage experience is required. Come ready to cut, print, layer and celebrate the joyful possibilities of paper. You'll work together in a relaxed studio atmosphere, and leave energized to continue your creative journey.

What is included?

All work material including special materials are included in the price of the class as well as tea, coffee and snacks throughout. An apron is available to use on site as well.

What will I take home?

At the end of the class, you will be able to take home at least one completed artwork!
