Raising Resilient Kids with Sissy Goff and David Thomas
From $ 25 usd
Sat, Jan 23, 2027, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST
Every parent wants their child to feel ready for what life throws at them. Drawing on more than sixty years of combined counseling experience, Sissy and David offer a clinically sound, emotionally attuned and faith-informed approach to raising capable, resilient kids. Join us to hear their stories and strategies so that you can learn to let your kids face hard things and keep going. At this Open Door event, Sissy and David are connecting face-to-face with parents in the trenches of raising kids to be resilient and capable. They'll speak with families about how:
- Sturdy is better than successful. Kids need to develop internal strength that lasts, more than external achievements that fade.
- Healthy is more important that happy. When happiness is the goal, kids have too much power. When health is the goal, they find what they need.
- Resilience lasts longer than relief or rescue. Rescuing kids from discomfort actually robs them of the internal strength to develop that will be required throughout their lives.
- Capable has more weight than confident. When true capability is discovered, kids will experience both the competence and confidence that will help them thrive.
A continental breakfast will be served beginning at 9:30am.
Free childcare for kids 11 yrs. old and younger. Space is limited- register in advance to secure your spot.
