Faculty Excursion: A People's Guide to Richmond

Join UR's own Dr. Melissa Ooten, author of A People's Guide to Richmond and Central Virginia, for this place-based tour of Richmond. The tour will highlight diverse communities mobilizing to dismantle oppressive systems in order for their communities to live and thrive in the region. It will highlight historical and contemporary movements, neighborhoods, landmarks, and gathering spaces that have shaped social justice struggles across the region. Our route will include Jackson Ward, Byrd Park, and more.

This bus tour is hosted by the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement and the Provost's Office.

While the excursion is designed with new faculty in mind, it is open to all interested faculty.
