Red Dot Weekend Day 2 (Driving the Dot)
PMO Performance · Sunday
Once we can find the dot, the real question opens up: how fast can we let ourselves shoot and still see everything we need to see? Sunday is where we answer it. This is a performance day, and it is not a repeat of Saturday at a faster pace. It is a different problem.
We spend the day driving the gun. That means recoil management that returns the dot to the same place, dot tracking through recoil so we are watching the sight and not waiting on it, and transitions between targets that stay honest to what our eyes verify. This is where visual cadence takes over as the governing idea. Our rate of fire is set by what we actually see and confirm, not by how fast the hand can cycle the trigger. Speed becomes an output of verification, and automaticity becomes the expression of inputs we trained on purpose the day before.
What we work on Sunday:
- Recoil management that tracks the dot flat and returns it to the same window
- Reading the dot in motion so cadence is driven by sight, not by feel
- Multiple target transitions governed by verification, not by rhythm alone
- Pushing the line between what we can do fast and what we can do fast and correctly
- Building repeatable speed we can defend, so pace is a decision and not a hope
You leave Sunday shooting measurably faster than you walked in, and able to explain exactly why that speed is real and repeatable rather than lucky. This is the day the optic stops being a sight you look at and becomes a sight you drive.
Prerequisite: Finding the Dot or equivalent training. If you can draw and holster safely and hold to the universal safety rules, we can get you through the rest. Sunday builds directly on the foundation Saturday sets, so come in able to run the gun safely from concealment and we will handle the performance.
