This is NOT a basic pistol course. Students should have already attended a basic pistol course of some type, to include understanding how to safely draw from a holster.
Students will need a modern drop safe semi auto pistol or double action revolver, a safe strong side or appendix carry holster that allows one hand re-holstering and retains the pistol well.
Serpa holsters, soft concealed carry holsters that collapse after the gun is drawn, small of back holsters, and hybrid type holsters, are not safe or suitable for the course. Outside or inside the waistband is allowed. Law enforcement officers attending are welcome to work from their duty gear.
600 rounds of reliable ammunition. Eye and hearing protection, active hearing protection is strongly encouraged. A ball cap or other hat with a bill.
I will have loaner dummy guns for some of the drills we will be doing, however if a student has a dummy gun that matches their carry gear please bring that with you.
There are no close by lunch options from this range. Please bring lunch/snacks/drinks/water with you for both days as we will do a working lunch. A folding chair would be something students will want to think about bringing.
The $25 range fee for this event is built in to the class tuition price.
