Bowl Turning Class with the Rocky Mountain Woodturning Club
$ 20 usd
Sat, Sep 5, 2026, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM MDT
Woodshop
Class will be taught by local Rocky Mountain Woodturning Club members who have experience in various aspects of woodturning. There will be at least 2 instructors for the class so the instructor to student ratio will be optimal for student learning.
During this class, students get familiar with the lathe using traditional wood turning tools. Students will turn a small bowl, sand, and discuss finishes while on the lathe. Students will be shown a variety of turning tools and how they function, and how to sharpen them.
We will discuss safety, wood selection, cutting blanks for bowls, and mounting blanks on the lathe.
Wood blanks, face masks, and dust masks will be provided. Basic turning tools will be provided but students are encouraged to bring any tools they have.
We will take a short lunch break so we recommend students bring their lunch.
This class is for Loveland CreatorSpace Members Only.
If necessary, we will hold a 2nd class opportunity for Sunday the 6th.
