BAR Specified Diagnostic and Repair Training represents one of four options a Repair Technician candidate may choose to qualify for the initial state licensing examination. Specifically, candidates with at least two years of engine performance repair experience may complete this training to qualify for the state licensing examination. The training provides students with comprehensive knowledge related to the diagnosis and repair of Smog Check failures.
The training is a minimum of 72 hours and must be completed at a BAR-certified school (F.A.S.T). BAR Specified Diagnostic and Repair Training is valid for 5 years.
*Level 2 must be initially taken in conjunction with BAR Specified Diagnosis & Repair course in order to fulfil BAR state exam requirements to get a Test & Repair license.
