Data and Statistics (Grades 6-12) VIRTUAL Workshop
$ 200 usd
Wed, Mar 31, 2027, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM EDT
Zoom Meeting
Data literacy is an essential skill for navigating today's information-rich world, yet data and statistics instruction is often the first thing squeezed out of a crowded math curriculum. This workshop makes the case for why data and statistics deserves a consistent place in Tier 1 instruction. We'll explore how students develop statistical reasoning, from posing questions and collecting data to representing, analyzing, and interpreting it, and engage with high-impact strategies for making this instruction accessible, hands-on, and relevant for all learners.
Participants will:
- Explore a progression of data and statistical reasoning across grade levels
- Investigate models and representations that support sense-making with data
- Engage in problem-solving tasks grounded in authentic contexts
- Plan opportunities for data investigation throughout a structured math block
- Consider why data and statistics matter beyond the math classroom, as a foundation for data literacy, digital citizenship, and informed decision-making
You will receive a Zoom link the day before the event. Please contact ashleymarlow@alllearnersnetwork.com with any questions.
