Community Planning 101: What is an Official Plan?

Tue, Nov 10, 2026, 2:30 – 4:00 PM EST
OCAB - Room 129, 21 Reeve St, Woodstock, ON, Canada Map

Curious about how we plan to help communities grow, change, and thrive? Join us for an engaging and informative session that introduces you to Community Planning. Whether you’re someone who is involved with development review, or just planning-curious, this session will explore the role of Oxford’s Official Plan and how it helps shape where and how we grow. Addressing everything from the protection of farmland and the environment to housing, parks, and infrastructure that shape the places we live and work in every day.

We’ll also take a closer look at the New Official Plan Project - what it is, why it matters, and how it guides everything from new developments to long-term community vision for the next 20 to 30 years. Think of it as the roadmap for the County’s future, balancing growth with sustainability, livability, and local priorities.

Come ready to learn, ask questions, see how planning decisions relate to the services and projects you deliver.
