Ensure that your online students have opportunities to have meaningful connections in your courses through intentional design. By applying the actions from this workshop, faculty who teach online can improve the experience of online learning as well as meet Federal regulations for Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI).

Workshop learning objectives:

• Recognize common challenges of online learning
• Explain the three types of interactions a student needs to have in each online course
• Define Regular and Substantive Interaction
• Identify evidence that RSI is met or not met
• Apply intentional actions to your own online courses

For our hands-on activity, please bring a course where you would like to increase student engagement or instructor presence.

Application of the knowledge gained in this workshop will help you ensure that your courses meet Standards 2, 3, and 5 for our UA Little Rock Online Quality Assurance Standards.

This workshop is the third of the five Quality Assurance workshops. These can be completed in any order and those who attend all five will receive a certificate. Attendees to the live session who complete all activities will receive 10 ATLE points.
