Coutts - Orientation for Drawing
While taking this Orientation Class is NOT a requirement for registration in the Drawing and Composition Class, STUDENTS with little or no drawing experience are encouraged to take this single 3-hour ORIENTATION CLASS for DRAWING before registering for regular drawing classes.
Whether completely new to drawing or perhaps just wanting a refresher, this 3-hour orientation class will offer students an overview of the Drawing and Composition class.
The purpose of this orientation is to familiarize students with the materials and techniques used in the drawing class. (Students should bring the required materials for the class to the orientation). The instructor will talk about and demonstrate how to use different tools and materials. Students will be allowed to practice with the various tools and will learn some basic drawing techniques necessary to execute successful drawings. Some technical and compositional terms will also be covered.
Students will also be given an overview and shown examples of subjects and sample projects covered during this ongoing class and will also have a chance to have any questions regarding the class answered.
