Sun West Art Club

In this class, we will be working to create imaginative abstract floral pieces. We will experiment with collaging papers, gel prints, texture mediums, and acrylic paint to create unique floral masterpieces. Emphasis will be on texture and pattern to create interest. One project will be centered around 100% collage, and the other will be mostly acrylic paint and markers.

The teacher will demonstrate a couple of art pieces/projects, and students may follow along and make similar pieces, or they can explore outside the box to deviate from the projects if they desire. 

·      11X14 or larger gallery-wrapped canvases (Qty. = 2)

·      Acrylic paint of various colors 

·      Black and white acrylic paint 

·      Transparent Shading Gray Fluid Acrylic if you have it (Golden)

·      Texture mediums (if you so desire-- not required)

·      Gelli plate and brayer (not required, and we have gelli plates available for checkout if you so desire.)

·      Acrylic markers (Posca recommended) 

·      Collaging papers (recommend gelli prints, or your own painted papers.) Teacher will supply lots of papers to use as well. 

·      Matte Gel Medium 

·      Workable Fixative (This will be necessary only if you use Posca markers)

·      Varnish (recommend Satin) 

·      Paint brushes in various sizes and brush tips

· Painter's tape to protect the back of canvases

·      Tracing paper

·      Pencil and eraser

·      Scissors
