Mechanical Training: Production Line Fundamentals First week

Second Week Press shop Training

This intensive, hands-on course is designed to take operators from the fundamentals of sheet metal handling up to safely mastering high-precision manufacturing equipment.

Trumpf Punch/Laser Machine Training (1-Week Course)

Day 1: Safety, Machine Anatomy, and Start-up

  • Safety & Emergency Procedures:
    • Location and use of all E-Stop buttons and light guards.
    • Understanding PUWER, LOTO, and PPE requirements.
    • Identifying and avoiding common energy sources and hazards (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.).
  • Machine Anatomy:
    • Introduction to the Trumpf T5000 and T6000 machines.
    • Key components: touch screen, foot pedal, light guards, etc.
  • Start-up & Shutdown Procedures:
    • Powering up and down the machine safely.
    • Machine referencing and homing.

Day 2: Tooling and Maintenance

  • Tool & Nozzle Training:
    • Understanding the different types of tools (multi-tools, whisper tools, etc.).
    • Tool and die selection, loading, and maintenance.
  • Basic Daily and Weekly Maintenance:
    • Daily checks: work area, brush table, oil levels, etc.
    • Weekly checks: lubrication, filter cleaning, etc.

Day 3: Machine Programming

  • CNC Controllers:
    • Navigating the on-board controls.
    • Uploading and managing programs.
  • Job Loading:
    • Importing NC code and nesting sheets.
    • Selecting material parameters.

Day 4: Run Execution and Troubleshooting

  • Dry Runs & First-Off Checks:
    • Executing a "dry run" to confirm the machine path.
    • Preventing collision damage.
  • Common Problems and Fixes:
    • Troubleshooting common issues like poor laser cut quality and alarm codes.
    • Safely recovering from a crash.

Day 5: Final Certification and Review

  • Practical Skills Test:
    • A hands-on assessment of the operator's ability to safely and efficiently operate the machine.
  • Written Test:
    • A written exam (test and questions) to test the operator's knowledge of safety procedures, machine operation, and maintenance.
  • Review and Q&A:
    • A final opportunity for operators to ask questions and clarify any remaining doubts.

Amada/Prima Press Brake Training (2-Week Course)

Week 1: Fundamentals

  • Day 1: Introduction to Press Brakes
    • What is a press brake?
    • Common bend methods (air bending, bottom bending, coining).
    • Industries and applications.
  • Day 2: Safety and Machine Components
    • PUWER, LOTO, and PPE.
    • Machine components: clamp holder, touchscreen, punch, die, etc.
    • Safety features: foot pedal, safety beam, emergency stops.
  • Day 3: Machine Start-up and Referencing
    • Start-up and shutdown procedures.
    • Machine referencing: opening and closing the ram, back gauge referencing.
  • Day 4: Daily Checks and Hazard Awareness
    • Daily operator checks.
    • Common hazards: pinch points, sharp edges, ergonomic strain, etc.
  • Day 5: Review and Practical Exercises
    • Review of the week's topics.
    • Hands-on practical exercises.

Week 2: Advanced Operations

  • Day 6: Tooling and Setup
    • Punch and die selection.
    • Setting up tooling safely and correctly.
  • Day 7: CNC Touchscreen and Programming
    • CNC touchscreen overview.
    • Inputting part numbers, selecting die size, punch, and material thickness.
  • Day 8: Advanced Programming
    • Adjusting ram speed, ODC (ram height), back stop hold/pause, and back stop retract.
    • Understanding angles and input.
  • Day 9: Auto Bend Process and Corrections
    • Starting the auto bend process.
    • Making corrections with the Digi pro.
  • Day 10: Final Certification and Review
    • Practical skills test.
    • Written test.
    • Review and Q&A.
