Improv Building Blocks w/ Peter Fluet: Longform Toolbox
Each week Queen City Comedy offers a fun, "learn through laughing" approach to building improv skills! Each Saturday, we’ll explore a key improv principle through simple games and exercises, while you build confidence and creativity. Whether you have improv experience and want to build new skills, or you are new and ready to learn — just bring yourself and a willingness to laugh and play! 
Longform Toolbox: In this session you'll get all the necessary tools, tips, and tricks that you need to create more memorable scenes and shows.

Different skill focus each week. Attend one or take them all!
Week 1: Scene study. Monologues, 2 person, and 3 person scenes. 
Week 2: Patterns and games. Finding the game of your scene and heightening. 
Week 3: Openings, tags, and edits. Finding inspiration and applying it to your show. 
Week 4: Basic types of longform "forms" to build a show. 

About your Instructor:

Peter Fluet is a recent transplant to North Carolina and the Charlotte area. He spent the prior 25 years studying, performing, coaching and teaching improv and sketch comedy in Los Angeles. He has trained/performed with The Groundlings Theater, Second City Hollywood, Second City at Sea on Norwegian Cruise Lines, IO West, Westside Comedy Theater, and UCB Hollywood. He hosted several workshops at different improv festivals throughout the country by himself and with his Los Angeles improv team Heyday. He has written several plays that originated from his improv and two of them have won awards at the Hollywood Fringe festival. He has taught beginner level improv all the way to advanced improv forms. Currently he is coaching teams at Charlotte Comedy Theater and performing with Now are the Foxes and Clutch.

Each Saturday in August: 8/1, 8/8, 8/15, or 8/22
