Welcome to the Svitanok Ensemble's 2026-2027 Dance Season!

Ottawa's Svitanok Ukrainian Dance Ensemble trains in and performs Ukrainian dance as a vibrant art form in Canada's National Capital Region. This Ukrainian-Canadian ensemble:

1. Creates meaningful and innovative choreography from authentic Ukrainian roots
2. Trains strong and sensitive dancers in a caring studio environment
3. Performs for a wide variety of audiences
4. Collaborates with partners to share dance practice, to co-create and to perform together
5. Engages community members with dynamic outreach events

2026-2027 Svitanok Ukrainian Dance Ensemble Artistic Vision:

THE SUN AT MY BACK 

With bold new steps, the Svitanok Ensemble will work in collaboration to transform ancestral whispers into living stories. These powerful echoes will weave dance, music, rhythm and voice into new creative work that lights the way FORWARD, ВПЕРЕД, EN AVANT.

Ensemble Season

2026: Friday, September 18 to Sunday, December 13

2027: Friday, January 8 to Sunday, June 6

2026-2027 rehearsals will be held twice a week: Sundays from 6:30 to 9 pm. (pre-rehearsal Dance FUNdamentals 5:45 to 6:25 pm.) and Fridays from 7 to 9 pm. All rehearsals will take place at The School of Dance (200 Crichton Street). An Ensemble artistic-training team and guest instructors will deliver rehearsals in response to Ensemble goals and artistic direction. Performing opportunities will be considered throughout the season.
