The Mini Incubator — Wednesdays in Grandview

Schedule: Wednesdays, 5:00–6:30 PM
Duration: 7 weeks · 1.5 hours/week
Ages: 5th grade and older
Location: Dear Garment House — 1217 Grandview Avenue, Grandview Heights
Investment: $525
Class size: Boutique — limited enrollment

Seven weeks is enough time to start something real.

The Mini Incubator gives students their first serious experience with the fashion design process — from concept to construction. Over seven focused sessions, you'll develop an original idea, work with real materials, make real decisions, and finish with a wearable design piece that is entirely your own.

This isn't a single-session workshop, and it isn't a full-semester commitment. It's the space in between — where the work gets real and the time is just long enough to see something through.

This Wednesday cohort is designed for 5th graders and older who are ready to go deeper, including returning CFA students who want to explore a new direction or try a different approach with fresh materials.

What students will learn:

  • Fashion design fundamentals — the vocabulary, the process, the thinking
  • Construction and materials exploration — how things are actually made
  • Creative confidence and independent decision-making
  • How to take an idea all the way from concept to finished piece

No fashion experience required. What you need is an idea and a willingness to work on it.

The Mini Incubator is the bridge between Creative Fashion Club and The Atelier — and a strong re-entry point for any student ready to go in a new direction.

A note for parents: This cohort is intentionally mixed — new students and returning students work side by side in a small studio environment. The range of experience in the room is part of what makes it work.
