Have you always wanted to try watercolor? Or are you already painting and looking to build your skills and confidence? This engaging introductory 6-hour workshop with watercolor artist Cheryl Chidester is designed to help you develop a basic understanding while exploring the beauty and versatility of this expressive medium.

Throughout the day, you'll learn essential watercolor techniques, including color theory and mixing, creating texture, brushwork, washes, layering, and working with a variety of watercolor papers and surfaces. You'll begin with a series of small studies and practice exercises before applying your new skills to a finished small landscape painting.

Participants can bring their own watercolor supplies, including paints, brushes, and paper. Cheryl will also have additional papers and select supplies available for use. Students may work from an enlarged reference photo of their own choosing or select from a variety of reference images provided during class.

This workshop is ideal for beginning and intermediate watercolor painters, but artists of all experience levels are welcome to join, experiment, and create in a relaxed, supportive environment.

If there is enough interest, additional Saturday workshops will be offered to continue exploring watercolor techniques and help students further develop their skills.

Materials
Participants are encouraged to bring:

• Watercolor paints
• Watercolor brushes
• Watercolor paper
• A reference photo (optional)

Additional papers and select supplies will be provided by the instructor.

A minimum of 6 students is required. If the workshop does not meet the enrollment minimum, you will receive a full refund.
