Iranian Cultural Foundation Houston

A foundational understanding of spoken Persian (Farsi) is required for enrollment. This course is an ideal companion class for students ages 8+ who are enrolled in Persian (Farsi) classes.

This engaging course combines Persian storytelling with an exploration of Iranian culture, history, and heritage. Students will discover memorable stories from the Shahnameh and other Persian traditions while learning about the people, places, customs, and diverse regions of Iran.

Course Highlights:

1. Persian Storytelling: Through lively, age-appropriate storytelling, students will discover iconic tales from the Shahnameh and Persian tradition while strengthening their listening comprehension and expanding their Persian vocabulary.
   
   
2. Iranian Culture & Heritage: Students will explore Iran's diverse regions, traditions, celebrations, foods, music, clothing, landmarks, and customs, developing a broader understanding of Iranian culture and heritage.
   
   
3. History & Cultural Context: Stories and cultural topics will be placed in context, helping students understand the people, places, traditions, and historical significance behind what they are learning.
   
   
4. Language Enrichment: Lessons conducted through spoken Persian provide a natural and engaging way for students to encounter new vocabulary, expressions, and ideas while strengthening their connection to the language.
