Matriarchal Leadership: Survivors' Wisdom as Community Wealth
Leadership is inherited in more ways than we often recognize.
In this session, we'll explore the wealth that has always existed within our communities—our cultural wisdom, relationships, traditions, resilience, and collective knowing. Together, we'll examine how these forms of wealth have shaped movements, sustained communities, and continue to offer powerful leadership lessons today.
Participants will reflect on how generational wisdom can strengthen decision-making, deepen connection, and expand what's possible when we lead from our collective inheritance rather than institutional norms. Together, we'll redefine generational wealth as the cultural, relational, and ancestral wisdom that has sustained our communities for generations.
This session focuses on generational wealth not only as financial capital, but as cultural, relational, spiritual, and strategic inheritance—especially within BIPOC communities.
We will explore:
- What wealth means beyond money
- Intergenerational survival strategies as leadership models
- How matriarchal leadership sustains movements long-term
- Why reclaiming this matters now
