Mindful Schools: How to Build a District-Wide Mindfulness Program (Part 1)
PART 1 (1 hr)
For Districts developing an SEL / Mindfulness Program & Spiraling Support that is consistent with Illinois 2026 SEL Standards.
Part 1 is an overview of key components to include for both staff and students in order to provide the understanding, skills, and modeling to integrate mindfulness into classroom routines, instructional sessions, or intervention-based system, leading to the support and development of SEL Standards, emotional resilience and mental well-being as well as a Mindful School Culture.
Each of the following sessions is also available for separate registration to complete up to 5 hrs of Professional Development.
Part 2 focuses on Pre-K and Elementary needs in order to establish mindfulness skills as an expectation for practicing SEL Standards with a priority on Self-Awareness & Self-Management. (1 hr)
Part 3 focuses on Middle School needs in order to establish habits of mindfulness strategies for practicing SEL Standards with a priority on Social Awareness and Relationship Skills. (1 hr)
Part 4 focuses on High School needs in order to explore options for sustained mindfulness, stress management, and self-reflection for practicing SEL Standards with a priority on Responsible Decision-Making. (1 hr)
Part 5 focuses on Leadership Development, School Culture, and Family Involvement in order to provide for adult capacity to understand, model, and support SEL Standards, Goals, and Indicators. Includes optional one-on-one coaching session. (1 hr)

Registration in PD+ is required prior to each session in order to receive PD credit.
