Learn Leave No Trace to help protect nature for decades to come! This workshop is an introduction to Leave No Trace including the seven principles. This interactive course will cover each principle, as well as provide explanations as to what actions outdoor recreationists can take to support Leave No Trace efforts.
This course will be held at the Education Yurts beginning at 9:00 and ending around noon. Parking is included with this program and is available next to the yurts. Most of the program will be spent inside the classroom yurt, however we will head outside for a few activities whenever possible. The yurt is heated with a pellet stove, but can be chilly, so please dress warm. Please be prepared for unpredictable weather. Participants should arrive prepared to learn with a writing utensil, snacks, and plenty of water. No meals or lodging are provided with this course, though all ADK members receive a 10% discount on programs and lodging. This program will be led by one of ADK's educators, who is a certified Leave No Trace instructor. Participants ages 12 and up are welcome to attend. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) welcomes people of all backgrounds and is committed to fostering a safe space for everyone to learn.
