DRAMA BOOTCAMP IS OPEN!

In this 1 day workshop, students will work with fellow young people and an industry Teaching Artist to create a brand new play and perform it in the afternoon for friends and family!

Skills we will build together

• Acting Skills: honing listening, reacting, and responding authentically to given circumstances
• Character Development: creating multi-dimensional characters, exploring backstory, motivation, voice, and physicality
• Storytelling & Dramatic Structure: understanding narrative arcs, pacing, and building engaging stories for performance
• Stagecraft & Spatial Awareness: exploring stage presence, movement, and positioning within a performance space
• Collaboration & Ensemble Work: working cohesively with peers, problem-solving as a team, and contributing to ensemble storytelling
• Vocal Techniques: building and refining projection, articulation, diction, and expressive voice for performance
• Movement & Physicality: developing expressive, intentional stage movement and exploring physical characterisation
• Confidence & Performance Skills: presenting work and receiving constructive feedback, and taking creative risks in a supportive environment

Class Details

Age group: 10-13 years old (please note this is based on age, not school year)

LOCATION: ..Hornsby Storey Park Community Centre, (Fowler Hall)

12 Old Berowra Road, Hornsby. Parking available on site and on the street.
