Service Day: Woodland Park area

On Saturday, October 3, 2026, CORE Electric Cooperative and Northeast Teller County Fire Protection District are teaming up to help first responders with fire hydrant clearance and mitigation efforts.

Northeast Teller County FPD has identified several fire hydrants that require vegetation management and cleanup to ensure they can be located quickly and accessed safely during emergency situations.

Volunteer activities may include:

  • Clearing weeds, shrubs, and small trees surrounding fire hydrants
  • Raking and removing obstructive debris
  • Trimming low-hanging branches that impede visibility or access
  • Removing overgrown vegetation within the designated clearance area
  • Hauling and disposing of brush and slash

Bring the whole family and spend the morning making a difference in your community! Age-appropriate children are welcome and encouraged to participate alongside their parent or guardian.

To help us plan accurately, every attendee must register, including children. A Release and Liability Waiver must also be completed by each participant at check-in on the day of the event.

All registered participants will receive a complimentary Service Day T-shirt, available for pickup on the morning of October 3.

Following the project, lunch will be provided at the CORE office in Woodland Park. We hope you'll join us for a rewarding day of service while helping improve emergency response capabilities in the community.
