Introduction to Fly Fishing
If you have ever wanted to know more about fly fishing or have some equipment that has been passed to you and you don’t know what to do with it, then this is the class for you. Deep Creek Fly Fishers is offering this 4-hour class as an Introduction to Fly Fishing.
The class will explain the differences between conventional fishing styles and fly fishing and give you the basics needed to start fly fishing. Examples of equipment, gear and flies used will be provided for students to explore and ask questions about. It will cover the basic equipment and gear you need to get started, without breaking the bank. In addition, we will tie a couple of essential knots and give you a chance to set up and cast a fly rod. If you have a fly rod/reel outfit, bring it to use or ask questions about.
After the class you will be emailed a PDF which will give you a list of recommended equipment, flies and websites to reference for more information or review and a glossary of fly fishing terms.
Students should bring a pair of sunglasses to protect their eyes during casting practice.
This class will go rain or shine!
