Toddler Clay Club: Pumpkins and Leaves
This week: pumpkins and leaves. Small pinch-pot pumpkins with stems, and real leaves pressed into clay. Fall arrives at the clay table.
Toddler Clay Club is a one-hour morning of clay made just for our smallest makers.
Every child works alongside a parent or guardian — no drop-off, no pressure, just the two of you at the table rolling, poking, squishing, and pressing stamps into soft clay. We keep it to 6 children so everyone gets help when they need it.
One hour is exactly right for this age. We start with a warm-up squish, make one simple thing together, and finish while everybody's still having fun.
A different project every week — come to one, or cone to all. Your child does the fun part, you help with the tricky part, and we glaze and fire every piece.
What to know before you come:
- $30 per child. The attending adult is included at no charge.
- One adult must attend and stay with each child for the full hour.
- Bringing a sibling ages 2–4? Please register each child separately.
- Dress everyone in clothes that can get messy — clay washes out, but not always all the way.
- We use non-toxic clay and food-safe glazes. Please help keep little hands out of little mouths.
- We'll have a short waiver for you to sign when you arrive.
- Pieces take about 3 weeks to glaze and fire. Pickup is at our Saturday farmers market booth — we'll email you when yours is ready.
No experience needed. Nobody here has any.
Studio location is in La Plata, MD — the full address is sent by email once you're registered.
