Class dates:

• Saturday, May 15th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Saturday, May 22nd from 9AM - 12:00 noon

Members: $108 Nonmembers: $128

Material fee and what it covers: $20 to be paid to the Instructor in class to cover handouts and waxed linen

Registration opens at 12 Noon: Tuesday, March 16th

Registration deadline: Saturday, May 1st

Cancellation deadline: Thursday, April 15th

Description

Discover the fun of using waxed linen to weave a twined mini basket. These little cuties are fun, relaxing and portable while making. The class introduces the basics of waxed linen weaving with no prior experience required. Step by step guidance will be provided throughout the session. However, if you have taken this class at TFAC before several advanced techniques will be demonstrated and enabled during the weaving process.

Participants will learn how to construct the spoke base, choose their weaver color palette from various sizes of waxed linen, craft a basket with mixed decorative stitches including finishing techniques.

Basket samples and demonstrations will support handouts that have detailed stitch and pattern mechanics.

Resources will include sample mini baskets, waxed linen and polyester samples, sources of material to create mini’s after the class finishes.

Prerequisites:

• No previous experience required

Materials to be provided by/additional instructions for students:

• Bring a large darning needle and scissors
• Please bring a lunch or snack if you would like. Access to a refrigerator and microwave are available in the building.
• Please wear a mask if having symptoms of a cold or respiratory illness.
