Emergency First Aid, CPR, AED & Trauma Response
Emergency First Aid, CPR, AED & Trauma Response
When an emergency happens, professional help may be minutes away. What you do during those first critical minutes can make a difference.
This comprehensive, hands-on course combines American Red Cross First Aid, CPR & AED training with USCCA Emergency First-Aid Fundamentals and practical instruction in the control of life-threatening bleeding and traumatic injuries.
This is more than a traditional CPR class.
Students will learn how to recognize an emergency, assess an injured or ill person, identify immediate threats to life, provide appropriate care, and take meaningful action while waiting for professional responders to arrive.
American Red Cross First Aid, CPR & AED

Students who successfully complete all applicable course requirements will receive an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Life-Threatening Bleeding Control

- Direct pressure
- Wound packing
- Tourniquet application
- Proper tourniquet placement
- Reassessment after bleeding control
- Recognizing and treating for shock
Students will have an opportunity to practice these skills using training equipment rather than simply watching a demonstration.
Building Your First-Aid & Trauma Kit
Having emergency equipment is only useful if you understand what you have and know how to use it.
We'll discuss the differences between basic first-aid kits, individual first-aid kits (IFAKs), vehicle kits and larger emergency trauma kits, including equipment selection, organization and accessibility.
Practical Emergency Scenarios
Throughout the course, students will have opportunities to put individual skills together through practical exercises and emergency scenarios.
The objective is not to turn students into EMTs or paramedics. It is to give ordinary people the knowledge, skills and confidence to take meaningful action during the critical minutes before professional help arrives.
Who Should Attend?
This course is appropriate for everyone and no previous medical training is required.
It is especially valuable for:
- Parents and family members
- CCW permit holders and firearm owners
- Teachers and workplace personnel
- Security professionals
- Coaches and volunteers
- Motorcyclists
- Hikers, campers and outdoor enthusiasts
- Travelers and road-trip enthusiasts
- Anyone interested in personal preparedness
Preparedness Is More Than Owning Equipment
At Not Today Self-Defense & Firearms Training, we believe preparedness goes beyond simply owning a firearm, carrying a first-aid kit, or keeping a tourniquet in your vehicle.
Equipment doesn't replace training.
Whether the emergency is a cardiac arrest, serious vehicle collision, workplace accident, traumatic injury or life-threatening bleeding, there may come a time when you're the person standing there while professional help is still minutes away.
You don't have to be a medical professional to save a life. But you do need to know what to do.
