Book reading and discussion, She’s on to Something by Sandy Bailey

Sandy Bailey will host an author reading and discussion of her new novel, She's on to Something.  It’s a sharp, sapphic romantic suspense about justice, desire, and refusing to stay quiet in a world built to silence you.

The early reviews are in:

“This book pulled me in, made me want to solve a crime, and go dancing with a sexy woman. I loved the representations of Butch/femmes, theys, and thems. A wonderfully queer cast of characters all felt like people I’ve met and want to know more about. Bailey’s writing builds as much tension in financial crimes as the potential romance. A triumph!”

Sandy and her wife have now lived in Boston for the past 26 years. They teach salsa, swing, and two-step dancing at her studio, OUT to Dance, in Roslindale and West Roxbury. She is also a non-profit board member at Franklin Park Coalition, organizing events for diverse urban neighbors in Boston's Franklin Park.

In an earlier legal career Sandy prosecuted domestic violence cases in New Mexico and financial crimes in Boston at the US Securities and Exchange Commission and United States Attorney’s Office, including cases against Fidelity Investments and State Street Bank.

Her new book, She’s on to Something, draws from her legal career, and just like her own life, a dance teacher plays a key role.
